Fake Environmentalism

Many years ago when I was actively involved with PETA and other groups, I was young, headstrong, and assured of my beliefs in the animal-rights philosophy, yet naive of the “big picture.” I recall being troubled by one of the PETA campaigns at the time, a drive against fishing (aimed against individuals, by seeking to place national parks off-limits to it, and by increasing the cost of fishing licenses). With all the other far more important problems out there, and pardon the pun, bigger “fish to fry” (e.g., unnecessary animal testing by the pharmaceuticals, useless torture of animals for the cosmetics industry, factory farming, the fur industry, or even the related problem of overfishing by huge industrial fleets and drift-nets), it seemed to me that public fishing issue was an enormous waste of resources.

I will add, that even back then, I adhered to a personal philosophy which cast me outside the mold of other vegetarian proponents, and that was I had few qualms with “hunters,” feeling that individuals willing to kill and process their own animals, were due a little respect over the “civilized masses” who contribute far worse to the suffering of animals, by paying for and consuming meat that came from factory farms (in essence, paying others to do the dirty work for them, out-of-sight and out-of-mind, cruelty of boundless proportions). {*1} My raising the fishing issue at the time, only brought me chides of derision from well-intentioned, but under-informed activists, vegetarians, hippie-chicks and the like.

stupid cunts

Now that I can see the “big picture,” I’d hazard to guess, that some foundation gave PETA a significant donation with the stipulation (or strong recommendation) that the issue of “public fishing” be addressed. What my intuition told me back then, and what I know all too well now, is the focus of such campaigns is to further deprive man of any means he may have of independence and self-sufficiency.

stupid cunts

Now, I’m simply trying to relate to the subject from personal experience, and in no way singling out PETA. I still believe, that despite this previous lapse in judgment, they are one of the best animal rights groups out there, and are excellent at raising awareness, especially among the young. {*2} However, I do need to stress that the following groups, are all ultimately working against the good of mankind (either through infiltration and misdirection, or some, even set up explicitly for the purpose): Sierra Club, World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Friends of the Earth, Wildlife Habitat Canada, Oxfam America, GreenPeace, National Wildlife Federation, Nature Conservancy, National Resources Defense Council (NRDC). {*3}

Take all of this into consideration as you now hear the “global warming” agenda preached from every corner of the media. Learn about how NGO’s (non-governmental organizations) are used by the power elites to form the classic “pressure from above / pressure from below” pincer movements we inevitably find ourselves trapped by. And, if you find yourself in a situation like I was, where some well-meaning group you’re supporting strays into a questionable path, find out why!

*2: Coincidentally, just last night, I stumbled across some documentary on HBO about Ingrid Newkirk, and saw Abraham Foxman of the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) bad-mouthing PETA. Hence, criticism coming from such a nefarious source, can only be interpreted in a positive light. [LB]

*3: The WWF, founded by Prince Philip of Britain and Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, is probably the worst of the groups listed. [LB]

  1. very interesting, but I don’t agree with you

  2. WOW, that was an ear full. Everyone is losing their homes….How did we get to this point?

Anyway, I don’t believe we are in debt. I think this is a scare tactic.

Who do we owe? I don’t owe anyone anything….

Nor do I have a religion, or want to adapt one.

Sheeee, this sucks. How did this happen?

Any ideas on how we stop it?

  3. Good post, and I agree, in particular with PETA. I remember them kicking up a big stink about celebs wearing fur, camping out on the red carpet to hurl flour on Jennifer Lopez as she passed by, sporting her fur. Seems to be a waste of time, as you noted with regards to their fishing obsession. They are an organization with the right idea – protect the critters who are unable to protect themselves against humans – but they make themselves look silly and a crazy with some of their campaign focuses and tactics. Which may be a minor, secondary agenda to it all – make animal rights people look nuts and silly so people begin disregarding them. But I think the primary agendas are the ones you pointed out.

    Again, good post!

  4. Mel, I think we [Americans, and others] are actually heavily in debt, and have been for quite some time. “Debt” is actually required for our monetary system (given to us by the mob Federal Reserve) to function. Unfortunately, such a system inevitably collapses.

How? Because we turned vigilance over to the nebulous “them;” the same them that common people will call you a “conspiracy kook” for discussing, yet vehemently believe that some “them” is protecting us and our children.

I hope you’re not confusing authoritarian bullshit religion for spirituality. As for solutions, I don’t claim to have “the answer”, but have started focusing on such in my recent “Octopi, Phalli” and “Black Hunter” posts…

Carissa, glad to see you here regularly. It’s really disappointing to see the direction PETA, and a lot of other groups, have been subverted to. Do those at the top like Ingrid know? I don’t know, but would have to assume so.

Lately, I’ve seen them endorsing Al Gore and his phony global warming agenda. So many good people (those who wanna protect animals) wasting their energies on globalist agendas…

  5. if they’re so serious about taking care of the environment, we can all say goodbye to automobiles, computers, internet or anything related to the destruction of our “earth”..

we can all count on horse carriages, bicycles, and planting vegetables and taking care of chickens in our own backyard… ^_^

  6. A New Dark Ages is the planned Brave New World Order with strict Security Clearances and Economic Privileges, all 100% surveilled and analysed for predictability. The peasants (including the technocrats and professionals) are planned to be killed unless they assimilate into the Borg.

So letting a day go by without fighting the Commie Bastards (R,TM)is treason to humanity and the biosphere. If you really love the planet then you gotta fight 100% to victory or death.

    Have a nice day.

  7. Not trying to be an ass here, but perhaps you could provide a side-list of genuine charities? There are two charities I know of that do make the most of their money for the poor.

  8. just a thought, this article was written quite some time back, when I failed to grasp what they meant when they said “neofeudalism.” Perhaps, such a future is in store for us (NOT THEM).

Peter, well spoken. I don’t have much to add to that.

Questioning, I can’t speak to the two charities you mention specifically, though the first of them seems rather “fishy.” Any doctor with half-a-brain knows that vaccinations have caused far more deaths than lives they’ve saved, so them going overseas to vaccinate is suspect.

However that doesn’t mean they’re as derelict as the American Cancer Society [who has a vested interest in spreading cancers]. As I like to say, “the Army of Darkness is usually composed of well-meaning idiots.”

  9. Bless you mate!!! Nothing like the perspective maturity brings…

  10. I am so glad that you put stuff on here I love animals and don’t think that its nessesary to test and kill animals for no reason its just fucking cruel!
