The Pirate of the Peninsula
Aww, how cute! My favorite little Nazi, Arnold Schwarzenegger, der Terminator, der Gubernator, made the cover of time. Hmmm, that’s an interesting belt-buckle!
Let’s take a closer look at it, and consider that one, he chose it for the event, and the photographer and Time chose to feature it prominently. Especially interesting since Arnold is not a member of any death metal band I know nor a pirate.
But his father was a ranking officer in Hitler’s SS. Pictured below, is the official insignia of Hitler’s Allgemeine SS [reputedly the most powerful group in Germany during that period]. Below, we present their official Death’s Head insignia.
Sorry guys, I just can’t leave the “pirate” phrase alone without mentioning that while Arnold may not be a pirate, his being a “butt-pirate” probably does not merit a skull & crossbones belt. Sure, maybe they were simply youthful indiscretions or maybe all he really did was strip down to his undies and “put on a show of the male physique.”
However, I seriously doubt that after said, er “displays,” the young buff Ahnold always managed to leave all those meetings at the Peninsula hotel without giving his ass up to at least one of the power-brokers present.
